Operating Instructions English

The recommended tyre operating
pressure is:
front: 0.7 bar
rear: 0.7 bar
Over-inflating reduces the longevity
of the tyres. Tyre pressure should be
checked before every journey.
After 5 operating hours
First engine oil change. See engine
manual for subsequent intervals.
Use the oil channel or (optional)
quick oil drain (Figure 18).
Every 10 operating hours
Remove dirt and grass clippings
from under the V-belt cover of the
cutter deck (fig. 24).
Lubricate all cutter shafts, idlers,
and idler mounts with 251HEP
type grease applied to their
respective grease nipples.
This work should be performed
at a specialised workshop
Every 25 operating hours
Using a multi-purpose grease,
lubricate the front wheels on the
cutter deck frame via the grease
nipples (depending on model).
Lubricating the steering
mechanism:
Fig. 19
Lubricate wheel bearings and
axles of the rear wheels via the
grease nipples (2) with grease
type 251HEP*.
Lubricate both steeting arms
(right and left) on the lubricating
nipples (1) with 251HEP*
grease.
* Use a commercially available
grease gun. According to the
model, a grease gun is enclosed.
Note
If the power needed increases when
steering, i.e. steering is made
difficult, grease earlier.
Every 50 operating hours
Grass residue and other soiling on
the drive gears must be removed
at a specialised garage.
Every 2 months
For battery type 2 only – Fill battery
cells with distilled water up to 1 cm
beneath the filling aperture.
If necessary
Servicing the battery.
Always keep the battery clean.
Avoid tipping the battery.
Battery acid may leak out!
Grease battery poles with terminal
grease.
Charging the battery
When the appliance is not used for
longer periods, we recommend
removing the battery from the
appliance and charging this before
and every two months during
storage and before the appliance
is again put into operation.
Note
Note the information in the operating
instructions for your battery charger.
Replace the fuse
Replace defect fuses only with the
equivalent rating.
Cleaning the steering gear
If spoadic steering difficulties or
a steering block is experienced
clean the steering gear mechanism
see “once a season”.
If that does not solve the problem,
visit a garage.
Once a season
Cleaning the steering gear:
Take away the cover
(3, Fig. 19).
Clean the steering gear
cogwheels (right and left).
Lubricate all moving parts and
bearing surfaces with a few drops
of oil (control levers, cutting height
adjustment).
Clean the spark plug and check
the gap between the electrodes
or replace the plug. See engine
handbook.
Have a repair shop lubricate the
wheel axles with special grease
(water-repellent).
Have the cutting blade sharpened
or replaced in a specialist
workshop.

When mowing does not appear to
be parallel to the lawn the cutters
can be aligned.
Note
Before aligning the cutters check the
tyre pressure on the appliance.
Setting the side level
Fig. 20
Raise the cutters to the top
(medium height position)
Carefully turn the outer cutters
(risk of injury) transverse to the
drive direction.
Measure the distance between the
ground and the ends of the two
outer cutters. The result should
be the same.
If required, set the correct level by
adjusting the lifting cable (3, on left
or right). To do this, loosen the lock
nut (1) and set the correct level by
adjusting the nut (2). After setting
the level, retighten the lock nut.
