10. Cleaning
Clean the coffee machine carefully according to the
following instructions to maintain the value and
hygiene of the unit.
Cleaning intervals:
Cleaning with the automatic cleaning program is
required at least 1 x per day for the milk and
brewing system. Another intermediate cleaning
cycle is recommended in case of high usage.
Additional manual cleaning activities are required at
least 1 x per week for the mixing area and the
beverage spouts.
Bean containers, machine housing and coarse sieve
in the freshwater supply should be cleaned at least
1 x per month.
A cleaning cycle must be run if the machine or the
milk system have not been used for more than
1 week.
Automatic reminder:
The following automatic reminder symbol
appears on the display if ...
– one of the cleaning times programmed at 9.h has
been exceeded ...
– and the machine has been operating for at least
1 hour since the last cleaning cycle …
– and at least 1 product has been dispensed.
– The cleaning prompt also appears on the display
if the machine shall be turned off while the milk
system is in use.
Automatic dispensing lock:
Further product dispensing is locked until the
next cleaning cycle if …
– since the cleaning prompt appeared more than
50 products have been dispensed or more than
3 hours have passed,
– or if the machine or the milk system have not
been in use for more than one week.
To reset the cleaning prompt or dispensing lock,
both systems must be cleaned, that is, the milk and
the brewing system.
Extent of cleaning:
No manual cleaning activities are necessary for the
daily cleaning. Starting the cleaning program and
adding cleaning agents when prompted is sufficient
here.
With the weekly cleaning, some few parts of the
mixing area and beverage spouts must be cleaned
manually as described at 10.e.
