OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Installing or removing battery cartridge (Fig. 1)
Always switch off the tool before insertion or removal of
the battery cartridge.
• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it from the
tool while pressing the push buttons on both sides of
the cartridge.
To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue on the
battery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slip
it into place. Always insert it all the way until it locks in
place with a little click. If not, it may accidentally fall out
of the tool, causing injury to you or someone around
you.
Do not use force when inserting the battery cartridge. If
the cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not being
inserted correctly.
Blowing (Fig. 2)
For dust blowing, attach the nozzle to blower outlet, turn-
ing clockwise to lock it in place.
Dust suction (Fig. 3 & 4)
For dust suction, fit nozzle onto suction inlet and dust
bag onto blower outlet.
After the bag fills with dust, empty the contents of the
dust bag into a dust bin by releasing the fastener.
CAUTION:
Empty the dust bag before it becomes too full, or the suc-
tion force weakens.
Switch action (Fig. 5)
CAUTION:
Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool, always
check to see that the switch trigger actuates properly and
returns to the “OFF” position when released.
To start the tool, simply pull the trigger. Tool speed is
increased by increasing pressure on the trigger. Release
the trigger to stop.
Air volume adjusting dial (Fig. 5)
Air volume can be adjusted to any of three settings by
turning the adjusting dial with the switch trigger fully
depressed. Refer to the table below for the relationship
between the number on the dial and the air volume.
CAUTION:
Use the adjusting dial only after the switch trigger
returns to the “OFF” position. Turning the dial before
the trigger returns may damage the tool.
If the tool is operated continuously until the battery car-
tridge has discharged, rest the tool for at least 15 min-
utes before proceeding with a fresh battery.
MAINTENANCE
CAUTION:
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and the bat-
tery cartridge is removed before carrying out any work on
the tool.
Cleaning (Fig. 6)
From time to time, wipe off the outside of the tool using a
cloth dampened in soapy water. Never use gasoline, thin-
ner or the like, or discoloration and/or cracks can take
place.
To maintain product safety and reliability, repairs, mainte-
nance or adjustment should be carried out by a Makita
Authorized Service Center.
