ALARMS
TheX-30
hastwodifferentalarms,
azonealarmand afishalert. The
zone alarm consists of a bar that
displays
on the left side of the screen. The
alarm
"chirps"
whenever the X-30 detects an echo inside the boundaries
of the zone bar.
Fish Alert is an
exciting
new
concept
in fish identification. It
identifies fish
by flashing
their
signals
on the
display.
This "fish flash"
feature
adjusts
for
small, medium,
and
large
fish. Or
large
fish
only,
if
desired.
With Fish
Alert,
an audible alarm also sounds
only
when fish are
detected. To
separatethealarms,
thefish alert'stone soundsdifferentthan
the zone alarm. Both alarms
may
be used at the same time.
NOTE: Another alarm, called the
SHALLOW
ALARM,
alerts
you
when the
bottom is shallower than a
preset depth.

COMMAND section.

turns the audible tone off and on.
Turning
the alarm
on enables the audible tone. The note
display
at the bottom of the screen
alsà turns on. To turn the audible tone
off,
press
the note
key
on the
keyboard
once. The note
displaywill
turn off. To turn it back
on,
press

note
key again.
This does not
change any
alarm
settings,
it
merely
turns
the sound off.

While the letters

the letters 'PT" will
disappear
and
the letters
'PA" will
appear.
The
range
has
changed
to fathoms.
Press the
FT/FA/M key again
and
the
display
will
show the
letter "M"
and
change
to meters. The letters
will
disappear
after
six seconds. To
changethe range backtofeet, press
2nd,
FT/FA/M, FT/FA/M.
The
FT/
FA/M
key
must be
pressed
twice to
change
backtofeetfrom meters. To
view the
range
mode the unit is
in,
press 2nd,FT/FA/M
and the letters
corresponding
to the
range
will
appear.
Turn the unit off and the
range
will revert to feet.

The X-30 has "menus" of commands that allows

to custom-
ize the unit to
your
needs. There are 6
pages
of menus available. These
menusare accessed withthe COMMAND
key.
Press
2nd,
COMMAND and
the first menu
appears
for six seconds. As
you
can see on the next
page,
the first menu is FISH SIZE. The number "1" at the bottom
of the screen
indicates this is menu number one. The numbers at the lower left of the
