So funktioniert ein Mikrowellengerät
Wie Radio- und TV-Wellen oder Tageslicht stellen Mikrowellen nichts
anderes als eine Energieform dar. Normalerweise verteilen sich Mikrowellen
in der Atmosphäre und verschwinden ohne Auswirkung. Mikrowellenherde
verwenden allerdings ein Magnetron, um die Energie von Mikrowellen zu
nutzen. Wenn das Magnetron - eine Magnetfeldröhre - mit Strom versorgt
wird, erzeugt sie Mikrowellenenergie.
Die Mikrowellen werden durch Öffnungen auf den Kochbereich im Herd
gerichtet. An der Unterseite der Herds befindet sich ein Drehteller.
Mikrowellen können nicht die Metallwände des Ofens passieren, aber Glas,
Porzellan und Papier (Materialien, aus denen mikrowellenfeste Behälter
hergestellt werden) durchdringen.
Mikrowellen erhitzen daher nicht die Kochbehälter. Allerdings erhitzen sich
diese aufgrund der Temperatur ihres Inhalts.

Haushaltsgeräte. Sobald Sie die Tür öffnen, stoppt
automatisch die Erzeugung von Mikrowellen.
Mikrowellen werden komplett in Wärme umgewandelt,
wenn Sie in Speisen eindringen. Daher gibt es keinerlei
Reststrahlung, die Sie beim Verzehr der Speisen
schädigen könnte.
