WAARSCHUWING
■ Voorzorgsmaatregelen airbags
Neem met betrekking tot de airbags de volgende voorzorgsmaatregelen in acht.
Het niet in acht nemen van de voorzorgsmaatregelen kan resulteren in ernstig let-
sel.
● Alle inzittenden dienen hun veiligheidsgordel op de juiste manier te dragen.
De SRS-airbags zijn aanvullende middelen die samen met de veiligheidsgordels
gebruikt moeten worden.
● De bestuurdersairbag wordt met een aanzienlijke kracht geactiveerd, waardoor
ernstig letsel kan ontstaan, vooral wanneer de bestuurder zich dicht bij de airbag
bevindt.
Omdat de eerste 50 - 75 mm het gevaarlijkst zijn bij de activering van de airbag,
kunt u door een afstand van 250 mm tot het stuurwiel aan te houden, een veilige
marge inbouwen. Dit is de afstand gemeten vanaf het midden van het stuurwiel
tot aan uw borstbeen. Als u nu minder dan 250 mm van de airbag zit, kunt u uw
zitpositie op verschillende manieren wijzigen:
• Plaats uw stoel zo ver mogelijk naar achteren terwijl de pedalen nog goed
kunnen worden bediend.
• Zet de rugleuning iets achterover.
Hoewel auto's verschillen, verkrijgen veel bestuurders, zelfs met de bestuur-
dersstoel helemaal naar voren, de afstand van 250 mm door simpelweg de
rugleuning iets achterover te zetten. Als u door het achterover zetten van uw
stoel de weg niet goed meer kunt zien, kunt u een stevig, niet-glad kussen
gebruiken om hoger te zitten, of uw stoel hoger zetten wanneer uw auto deze
mogelijkheid biedt.
• Als het stuurwiel verstelbaar is, kantel het dan naar beneden. Hierdoor wijst
de airbag naar uw borst in plaats van uw hoofd en nek.
• De stoel dient te worden afgesteld zoals hierboven aanbevolen, terwijl de
auto nog steeds goed bediend kan worden.
● Bij krassen, scheuren of andere beschadi-
gingen in het interieur in het deel van de
voor- en de achterstijl en het dak met de
curtain airbags.
