How to carry out a measurement:
· Press the Block Key and check whether
the measuring tape is completely
retracted into the housing. ·Turn on
your Digi-Master via the ON/MODE key.
The display will show the measurement
'O' and the measurement unit (m, cm,
feet, inches) of the last entry. ·As and
when necessary change the
measurement unit by using the
ON/MODE key. ·Check whether there
are still measurements present in the
memory. If this is the case the display in
the lower right corner will show the
number of stored items. ·Now carry out
the measurement as you would with a
conventional measuring tape. Hold
down the Block Key whilst the measure-
ment tape is being extended. The
display will show the length of the
extended tape during the extension
period. To achieve an exact reading stop
the tape with the Block Key. ·You can
end the measurement process by hol-
ding down the Block Key and carefully
letting the tape roll back into the hou-
sing.
How to carry out an interior
measurement:
· If, for example, you want to measure
the distance between two walls, after
turning on, just press down the +CASE
key. The Digi-Master will automatically
add on the length of the housing. ·Now
you only need to direct the measuring
tape onto the full length between the
points to be measured. · When you
press the +CASE key the standard
measurement will appear: the length of
the extended tape without the housing.
How to freeze-frame the displayed
result:
· Whilst the measuring tape is still rolled
out press the Ï/MR key. The display will
be frozen, even when you retract the
measuring tape into the housing. A
small lock symbol will appear in the
display.
· The freeze-frame function can be
removed by pressing once more on the
Ï/MR key.
How to add up various
measurement values
·If you want to memorise a displayed
measurement for further addition of
lengths, then just press the M+ key. A
small figure will be displayed in the
lower right corner of the display - this
indicates the number of measurements
already stored in the memory. ·With the
measuring tape retracted press the
Ï/MR key. The total of all stored
measurements will appear in the display.
An M will appear, as a function symbol,
before the figures showing the number
of items in the memory.
How to empty the memory:
· With the measuring tape in a retracted
position press on the MC key - the
memory will be empty again.
How to do circles and curves:
· The Digi-Master has a very practical
little device for such tasks: a folding
pivot pin under the battery
compartment.
· Now draw the measuring tape a few
centimetres out of the housing. You will
notice that there are holes stamped into
it at regular intervals. These serve as a
marking assistance. ·The first hole is the
most important for doing circles. It is to
be found at 2.5 cm. This is exactly the
amount by which the housing is
increased when the pivot pin is in an
unfolded position. ·Now switch the Digi-
Master into the ON/MODE and
immediately press +CASE. Extend the
measuring tape to the length shown in
the display. Set the pivot pin at the
point where the curve is to begin and/or
at the centre point of the circle which is
to be drawn. When describing a circle
or curve put your marking pen in the
small hole in the 2.5 cm position. Your
circle will have a radius exactly as shown
in the display.
Useful tips:
· Before use please insert a 9 volt
alkaline battery.
· If the display shows the word ERROR ,
there can be four reasons for this:
1. You may have extended the tape and
then pressed ON/MODE. Retract the
tape completely:
2. You may have pressed ON/MODE
whilst the appliance was turned off and
the tape was not completely retracted.
Retract the tape completely:
3. The memory may be overloaded with
additional measurement figures. Delete
these by pressing MC:
4. You may have retracted the tape too
quickly. Retract it once more and press
MC.
· It is difficult to read the display or the
battery symbol appears. Replace the
battery.
· Always retract the measuring tape
slowly and carefully. Whilst doing this
with one hand hold it in a stable
position. Do not let children use it: the
edges of the steel tape can cause injury.
· Keep your Digi-Master under dry
conditions and do not expose it to direct
sunlight.
· Should you not be going to use the
appliance for a considerable time then
please remove the battery in order to
avoid damage from battery leakage.
· The appliance can be used within a
temperature range of 0° - 40° C.
