APRS
ÜBER APRS
APRS (Automatic Packet/ Position Reporting System) wurde von Bob Bruninga,
WB4APR, in Maryland (USA) entwickelt. Bob Bruninga ist der Präsident der Firma
APRS Engineering LLC, die der Inhaber des Warenzeichens APRS ist. Bob schuf
das APRS-Protokoll und entwickelte das Programm “APRSdos”, was der offizielle
Name von “APRS” ist. Dieses Programm läuft auf der MS-DOS-Plattform.
Die ersten Anfänge von APRS gehen bis in die späten 70er Jahre zurück, und das
System wurde nach seiner Herausgabe im Jahre 1992 ständig weiterentwickelt.
Bis zum heutigen Tage wurden bereits viele lizenzierte Versionen für eine Reihe
von Plattformen herausgegeben (siehe Seite 4, “Das APRS-Programm”). Dies sind
unter anderem Mac APRS für den Macintosh, WinAPRS und APRSplus für Windows,
javAPRS für Java und PocketAPRS für den Palm III.
Eine der neuesten Entwicklungen für APRS ist das TH-D7. Das TH-D7 ist ein
Funkgerät für APRS-Datenkommunikation.
Das APRS-Protokoll arbeitet mit Packet-Einheiten, die wiederum UI-Rahmen
darstellen (UI = unnumerierte Information). Das Packet enthält Positions- und
Stationsdaten, Statustext sowie eventuelle Meldungen. Die Positionsdaten
spezifizieren die geographische Breite und Länge, die Stationsdaten bestehen aus
Angaben zur Station (Rufzeichen, Sendeleistung usw.) sowie unter anderem
Wetterinformation (Temperatur, Windgeschwindigkeit und -richtung u. dgl.), der
Status ist wie Ihr Kommentar, und die Meldungen sind wie elektronische Post.
Für APRS-Betrieb benötigen Sie einen Transceiver mit TNC (Terminal Node Controller)
und ein APRS-Programm, das auf einem Personal-Computer läuft. Das TH-D7 hat
einen eingebauten TNC und verfügt auch über alle APRS-Funktionen, die man in
einem Handtransceiver braucht. Wie Sie APRS mit Ihrem TH-D7 nutzen, erfahren
Sie im Abschnitt “GEBRAUCH DES TH-D7 ALS EINFACHE APRS-STATION” auf
Seite 12.
Der folgende Abschnitt beschreibt den allgemeinen Gebrauch von APRS mit
