PG-4M Pager Receiver 2/2 MEG51607
PG-4M Pager Receiver
The PG-4M pager receiver is designed for reception of signals from
PG-4T pager transmitter. The receiver indicates the reception optically
and acoustically and built-in relays can trigger another devices too. Up
to 4 transmitters PG-4T can be enrolled to onePG-4M.
Technical Specification
Power supply 10 - 16 V =
Current consumption stand-by 10 mA, max. 50 mA
Working frequency 448.17 MHz
Working distance form transmitter max. 2 km (open area)
Operating temperatures -10 °C to +50 °C
Indication acoustic and optical
Relay outputs NO, 60 V / 1A =
In Norway and Belgium can be operated according to ERC REC 70-03
as e SRD, in another countries it has to be licenced.
Complies with:
ETSI EN 300 220/2000, ETS 300683/1998, EN 60650/1997
Hereby, Jablotron Ltd., declares that this PG-4M is in compliance with
the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of Directive
1999/5/EC. Original of the conformity assessment can be found at the

Note: Although this product does not contain any harmful materials we
suggest you to return the product to the dealer or directly to the
producer after usage.
Installation
The receiver is designed for indoor use. It should be installed with the
antenna in a vertical position. Do not install the receiver close to metal
surfaces, which could reduce the radio communication.
Open the cover of the unit by pressing in the internal tab on the top
(small flat screw-driver is appropriate). You can remove the PCB after
you loosen the central screw.
Route wires through the hole in the bottom of the rear housing. Attach
the housing to the desired place.
Connect wires to terminals. Replace the cover.
Connect the power supply. You can use a DC adapter or preferable a
backup power supply (e.g. BP-12).
In order to increase the working distance, you can use an external
antenna AN-01A or AN-02A. The external antenna should be
connected to the ANTENNA connector. When using an external
antenna, remove the internal rod one (loosen its screw). This way the
working distance can be increased.
If the PG-4M is used as a part of a security system, it should be
placed in a tamper-protected box. If the box is made of metal then an
external antenna should be used.
Enrolling a transmitter to the receiver
Press and hold the LEARN / RESET button until the A LED blinks.
This indicates entering the enrolling mode.
When any input of PG-4T is triggered, the transmitted channel is
enrolled to the PG-4M. Successful enrollment is confirmed by lighting
up of LEDs.
The receiver is ready to receive signals from enrolled transmitter
now.
Operating mode
Select one of the operating modes setting the „Follow / Pulse“
jumper:
FOLLOW mode
In the “Follow“ mode the output relays copy the status of the PG-4T
inputs.
LED A & relay A is ON when input A of the PG-4T is connected to GND.
LED B & relay B is ON when input B of the PG-4T is connected to GND.
Note: The PG-4M receivers in the FOLLOW mode doesn´t react on the
transmitter’s signal that was triggered by powering the transmitter when
both A and B inputs are disconnected from GND (except the enrolling
mode). If any input is connected with GND when the transmitter is
powered, then the corresponding output relay of PG-4M will be switched
on. But it will remain switched even after deactivating the transmitter!
It is not recommended to use multiple transmitters in this mode.
PULSE mode
If the jumper is in the „Pulse“ mode, output relays switches for 5 sec
after the corresponding triggering input is switched on or off.
LED A & relay A indicate connecting or disconnecting of transmitter’s
input A to GND.
LED B & relay B indicate connecting or disconnecting of transmitter’s
input B to GND.
Note: In the PULSE mode the receiver will indicate alarm on the B
channel if the transmitter is connected to the power supply.
If more transmitters are enrolled, then the receiver will trigger A
alarm if any A input is triggered and B alarm if any B input is triggered.
Optical indication
Status LED Indicates
ON A or B Channel triggered in FOLLOW mode
Blinks slowly A or B
Channel triggered in PULSE mode.
Blinks additional 15 minutes after the
relay resets (alarm memory)
Blinks A Enrolling mode
Blinks 3 times A alt. B Reset
Note: The channel A LED blinks after the power supply is switched on.
The number of flashes corresponds to the number of enrolled
transmitters.
Acoustic indication
If any relay is triggered, the built-in buzzer beeps for 15 sec.
Different sounds are generated in order to distinguish the channel
A (--- --- ---) or B (… … …).
Note: The sound corresponds to the latest received signal. You can
switch the buzzer off if you disconnect the BUZZER OFF jumper.
Reset
You can delete all enrolled transmitters and reset the relays if you
press and hold the LEARN / RESET button too a long time. It is
confirmed by LEDs alternating blinking and a short beep.
If you press the LEARN / RESET button shortly, the relays and the
buzzer will reset.
