Important Safety Advice
Read the instruction manual carefully before using the device.
• Before the first use, check if the rated voltage corresponds with the voltage on the rating plate of the device.
• Do not immerse the heating base in water or other liquids.
• Prior to cleaning, and in case of a malfunction, always disconnect the power plug from the socket.
Disconnect the power plug when you are not using the device.
• The heating base, and other parts, can become very hot during use.
• Make sure that the device is out of the reach of children, and always use with caution. Always use the
handles in order to remove individual parts.
• Make sure that the device is placed far enough from the edge of the table or a counter top, so that it cannot
be pulled down. Also, make sure that the power cord is placed in such a way that nobody can trip over it or
get entangled in it.
• Do not use the device if the power cord or device itself is damaged. In such a case, take it to our Client
Service.
• Do not place the device in the direct proximity of a hot cooker plate, or on it.
• The device is intended for private use only.
• Do not move the device if the base and the contents are still hot.
• Do not use the device outdoors.
Before first use
Read the instruction manual and store it for future reference. Check if the rated voltage in your house
corresponds with the voltage on the rating plate of the device (230 – 240 V). Connect the device to a grounded
socket only.
Remove the packaging materials. Clean all parts in soap water (apart from the heating base) and rinse them
thoroughly.
Use the forks for taking out the ingredients only; be careful not to scratch the pot.
Please note:
When in use, the lamp of the thermostat goes on and off. This indicates that the thermostat works properly and
constantly regulates the temperature. If you are not using the device, disconnect the power plug from the
socket.
Make sure that the base is placed on a level table or another stable surface. Do not place the device on a (hot)
cooking plate. Connect the device and set it to the desired temperature. It will take some time before the device
is hot. In the meantime, you can prepare the ingredients. The lamp of the thermostat goes off as soon as the
heating base has reached the proper temperature.
Before putting them away, allow the heating base and all other parts to cool down completely.
Operation
Thanks to the adjustable temperature, the fondue pot can be used for different types of fondue: classic fondue,
cheese fondue, chocolate fondue, or Chinese fondue (ingredients are cooked in boiling bouillon). Fill the pot
with the desired ingredients – oil, cheese, bouillon, or chocolate – and place it on the heating base. Make sure
that the pot is not too full. The contents should be between the lowest and the highest level. Set the thermostat
to the desired setting. The red light will be going on and off as the thermostat regulates the temperature. For the
classic meat fondue, set the thermostat to the highest level, whereas with cheese, Chinese, or chocolate
fondue a medium setting is recommended. Adjust the temperature so that the contents begin to boil. Cheese
and chocolate must be heated slowly, otherwise the pot will over boil. Stir every now and then to obtain a smooth
mixture. Make sure to touch only the ingredients with the forks, not the pot.
