Problemen bij praktijktoepassing
Normaliter zetten gebruikers een sternetwerk op. In dat geval moeten de afsluitweerstanden
worden aangesloten bij de twee verst verwijderde apparaten (in afbeelding 4 zijn dat 1# en 15#),
maar deze aansluitmethode voldoet niet aan de eisen in de RS-485-industriestandaard. Daarom
treden er problemen op als signaalreflecties en minder onderdrukking van stoorsignalen bij
apparatuur op grotere afstand. De dome is dan niet meer te bedienen of gaat zelfstandig handelen.

In deze gevallen kunt u het beste een RS-485-distributeur toevoegen. Dit product kan een
stervormig communicatienetwerk effectief aanpassen zodat het voldoet aan de eisen in de
RS-485-industriestandaard. Dat voorkomt de genoemde problemen en verbetert de
betrouwbaarheid van de communicatie. Zie afbeelding 5.
