4B. Assembly and installation of 50C
S E E P I C T U R E S O N PA G E 3 3
Assemble the air purier in the following order:
For ceiling installation: Drill an 8mm hole in the ceiling to
attach the wall plug and ceiling hook. Insert the plug into the
hole and screw in the ceiling hook.
For suspended ceilings: Consult an electrician for the most
appropriate solution
NB. Ensure that the distance from the wall to the air purier
is at least 3 feet / 1 metre
A-D: Thread the cable through the loops of the pressure
relief device.
E-F: Attach the pressure relief device to the top of the ion
generator (at the outlet on the plastic tube) and ensure that it
snaps into the holes
G: Connect the plug to socket on the ion generator
H: Attach the cable to the pressure relief hook. The air puri-
er should hang down at least 2 feet / 60 cm from the ceiling
I: Hang the pressure relief hook from the ceiling hook
J-K: Hold the metal hook on the ion generator. Then care-
fully lift the collector (aluminium cylinder) from underneath
(where the corona needles are) up and over the metal hook
L: Then let the collector slide back down and rest on the
metal hook. NB. This connection is vital in order for the air
purier to function.
• Finally, plug in the transformer plug at the wall socket. If
an extension lead is required, attach this to the transformer
cable.
The indication light should light up. Congratulations!
From now on, you are breathing cleaner air.
5. Cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the transformer plug before cleaning the air
purier.
• Do NOT wash the collector in the dishwasher.
• Do not use cleaning products that contain alcohol solutions,
ammonia or alkaline substances, as these products may
damage the air purier.
• The collector should be cleaned around once a week or as
and when required. The collector may require more frequent
cleaning if used in highly contaminated environments.
Cleaning the collector:
IonFlow 50F & 50F Style: Remove the collector by lifting up
the ion generator with the collector attached. Then hold in
the metal hook and pull the collector downwards (pictures
1-3 on page 32, in reverse). NB. The ion generator may be
damaged if you pull it upwards!
IonFlow 50C: Hold in the metal hook on the ion generator
and move the collector down (pictures J-L on page 33, in
reverse)
1. Clean the collector with washing-up liquid, warm water
and a soft sponge/dish brush
2. Dry the collector with a dishtowel
3. Put the collector back on the ion generator according to
the earlier instructions.
If you have followed all the above instructions but the col-
lector is not clean, try the following:
1. Spray cleaning uid onto the collector and let it work for
5 minutes
2. Using a damp sponge, rub any remaining spots until they
disappear
3. Wipe the collector using a clean, damp sponge
4. Dry the collector with a towel and place it back on the ion
generator according to the earlier instructions.
5. Repeat the above procedure if necessary
Cleaning the ion generator, corona needles and acrylic
stand:
• Once every four months you may need to carefully clean
the fragile corona needles. Use a small brush (e.g. a
toothbrush) and carefully brush away the thin layer of white
lime scale and dirt which may have become attached to the
needles. Do not use pressure or water when you clean the
needles.
• Clean the ion generator and the acrylic stand with cleaning
spray and a damp cloth or sponge. Wipe clean and rub away
any remaining dirt. Dry with a towel. Do not allow the top and
bottom to come into contact with water and be careful with
the corona needles on the ion generator.
