Game Idea

The play ﬁ gure Farmer Bert stands in the middle of the table and the jigsaw pieces are placed

face down all around him. Each player has the puzzle picture of a farm animal in front of him

and collects the corresponding tiles. The players take turns to throw the die. The die shows how

many pieces a player can uncover. If Farmer Bert appears, the fastest player to grab the play

ﬁ gure can uncover pieces until he ﬁ nds one that ﬁ ts his picture.

The aim of the game is to be the ﬁ rst to ﬁ nish the puzzle of your animal.

Preparation of the Game

Mix up the 36 jigsaw pieces and lay them out face down in the middle of the table.

You can also lay them out in a grid of 6 x 6 jigsaw pieces. You always play with all the jigsaw

pieces, even when there are less than four players. Place Farmer Bert in the middle of the table,

in between the jigsaw pieces. He must be in easy reach of all players. Now each player must

choose a farm animal, and take the corresponding puzzle-picture and place it in front of him.

Any extra puzzle-pictures are returned to the box. Get the die ready.

How to Play

The player who can moo the most like a cow begins and rolls the die.

What does the die show?

• 1, 2 or 3 dots:

Uncover the corresponding number of jigsaw pieces and puzzle them in your frame.

If they don’t ﬁ t your picture, turn them back over again.

• Farmer Bert:

Now you have to try and grab the

play ﬁ gure as fast as you can.

Who was the quickest?

Turn over as many jigsaw pieces as you need until you

ﬁ nd one that ﬁ ts your animal and puzzle it into your frame.

Then turn the other pieces back over again.

Then it is the turn of the next player to roll the die.

End of the Game

Whoever is the ﬁ rst to ﬁ nish the puzzle of his animal, wins the game.
