Dappere prinsen kwamen van heinde en ver om de prinses van de

vloek te bevrijden. Maar geen van allen kon de dichte doornhaag

overwinnen. En zo verstreken de jaren en steeds meer mensen verga-

ten de prinses en het betoverde koninkrijk.

100 jaar later vertelde een oude landloper, een prins over Doornroosje.

Toen hij van haar schoonheid hoorde, werd hij verliefd en ging meteen

op weg om de prinses te bevrijden. Moedig maar radeloos stond hij

voor de grote doornhaag. Maar als bij toverslag veranderden alle

dorens in geurige rozen. Zo kon hij tegen de toren naar Doornroosje

klimmen. Toen hij het slapende Doornroosje zag, kon hij niet anders

dan haar kussen. En nauwelijks hadden zijn lippen de hare beroerd, of

ze opende haar ogen en werd tegelijk met haar het hele koninkrijk

wakker.

Doornroosje werd verliefd op de prins en beiden vierden een groots

bruiloftsfeest. En ze leefden nog heel lang en gelukkig.
