Standby Battery – Mains Failure
Insert a 9 V (IEC 6 LF 22) alkaline battery into
the battery compartment (in the base of the
set).
Insert the battery only after the set has been
connected to the mains in order to prevent
unnecessary drain. We recommend that the
battery be replaced after approx. 1 year.
If the clock radio is to be disconnected from
the mains supply for a long period, the stand-
by battery should be removed, as it would
otherwise discharge too quickly, and may
leak.
If a standby battery is fitted, the clock will
continue to operate during mains failure.
However, the alarm will not sound and the
display will not be illuminated unless the
mains supply is restored within 1 hour and 59
minutes of the preset alarm time (if so, the
radio will switch on or the alarm tone will
sound).
Placing the radio
When placing the radio, please observe that
the surfaces of some furniture are often coa-
ted with lacquers or plastics containing
various types of chemicals. These chemicals
may react with the material of which the feet
of the radio are made, causing the furniture to
be marked with stains which are often diffi-
cult to remove, sometimes they may be per-
manent.
Notes
Only a soft cloth which picks up dust should
be used to clean the cabinet. Do not use
aggressive polishes or cleaning agents.
Do not expose the unit to moisture (eg: drip-
ping or splashing).
Type plate is on bottom of the cabinet.
The unit meets the CEE regulations concerning interference
radiation.
This set complies with the safety regulations according to
VDE 0860/BS 415 and thus with the international safety regu-
lation according to IEC 65.
Note on environmental protection
Do not throw exhausted batteries in the
household refuse. Hand over the old bat-
teries to your dealer or public collecting
points when buying new ones.
