De MP3-player MPAXX is een nieuw, portable afspeelapparaat

voor digitale muziek, die conform de MP3-norm is gecompri-

meerd. Deze is volkomen ongevoelig voor schokbewegingen en

eenvoudig te bedienen. De muziek wordt vanaf verwisselbare en

overpeelbare geheugenkaarten, de zgn. multimedia-cards, weer-

gegeven. Deze kaarten zijn klein, licht maar niettemin zeer stevig.

Er bestaat tevens een bespeelde, geblokkeerde variant van deze

kaart, de ROS-card (Record on Silicon).

De procedure, muziek in het MP3-formaat vast te leggen, is vooral

op het internet tot standaard verheven. Talrijke websites bieden

tegen betaling of kosteloos MP3-muziekbestanden om te down-

loaden aan. De op de harde schijf van uw pc vastgelegde MP3-

bestanden worden met behulp van de bijbehorende kabel via de

seriële interface op de multimedia-cards geladen.

Als toebehoren is de card-station te verkrijgen, waarmee multi-

media-cards kunnen worden beschreven, zonder dat de MP3-

player aan de moet worden aangesloten. De card-station wordt

met de parallelle interface verbonden, waarmee de dataover-

dracht wezenlijk sneller verloopt.

Deze gebruiksaanwijzing beschrijft, hoe de MP3-player bedrijfs-

klaar gemaakt wordt.
