I have recently purchased a GeeMarc CL595 phone. Despite closely following the instructions the Answering Machine does not function correctly. The machine is on and playback on but even with four purposeful calls there is the message 'no new calls. Also no visual indication that the messages have been received. I am with the Virgin Media telephone service and I can recover the messages mentioned by telephoning 1571. Is this a matter of incompatibility?

Despite the ON setting being clicked' menu ok' and the message coming up 'messages will be answered' the only response I get is 'no new messages' and this despite four calls purposely made. There is also no visual indication that these calls to the machine have been made. I am on the Virgin Media telephone service and the only way I can recover these messages is dialling Virgin on 1571

I've read in the User Guide about a "First Ring Function" but I don't understand the description of it. What is it for, what does it actually do, and how do you activate it?
