5. HOT WATER DELIVERY
If you want hot water to make tea or other infusions, place a container under the water / steam
nozzle ( C ) and slowly turn the water / steam knob ( G ) anticlockwise.
To stop hot water delivery, turn the water / steam knob ( G ) clockwise to the 0 position.
Make sure that you close it tightly.
WARNING! At the beginning of the hot water delivery, there may be a spray of hot water. Be
careful. The water / steam nozzle heats up. Do not touch it.

The hot water is available at any time, when
BELLA
is ready to make coffee.
6. STEAM DELIVERY
To make cappuccinos or heat beverages, the water temperature must be raised in order to
produce steam.
- Press the steam button
, the steam function pilot light will flash together with the
water heating up light
, which indicates that the temperature is rising.
When the water heating up pilot light
goes off, the water has reached the right
temperature and BELLA is ready to deliver steam.
- Rotate the water / steam nozzle ( C ) outside.
- Place an empty container under the water / steam nozzle ( C ) and slowly turn the hot water
/ steam knob ( G ) anticlockwise in order to let the water out of the circuit.
- Turn the water / steam knob ( G ) clockwise to the 0 position.
- Immerse the water / steam nozzle ( C ) in the milk or other beverage that you want to heat
and slowly turn the water / steam knob ( G ) anticlockwise. You will have a correct steam
delivery.
- When you do not need the steam any longer, turn the water / steam knob ( G ) clockwise to
the 0 position and clean the water / steam nozzle thoroughly with a wet cloth.
- Press the steam button
to cancel the steam function. The steam function pilot light
will go off. The water heating up pilot light will come on to indicate that the
temperature is too high to make coffee. The coffee buttons will not transmit any command until
the temperature has dropped.
If you want to speed up the cooling of the water which is inside the boiler, place a container under
the water / steam nozzle ( C ) and carefully let some hot water out of the water / steam nozzle
( C ) by slowly turning the water / steam knob ( G ) anticlockwise. The temperature will drop in
a few seconds. Turn the water / steam knob ( G ) clockwise to the 0 position.

When the temperature is still too high to make coffee the coffee button will not transmit any
command.
How to empty the coffee grounds box
- Move the water / steam nozzle to the left.
- Take out the coffee grounds box together with the drip tray.
- Empty the box, then wash it carefully and dry it.
- Reinsert the box together with the drip-tray and push it completely
so that it is well set.
- Press the multifunction button : the warning light will go off.
- When the coffee grounds warning light stops flashing the coffee
button will transmit commands again.
WARNING! When the coffee grounds warning light flashes, empty
the coffee grounds box although it is not completely full. If you don't
empty the box the coffee grounds could block the machine.

To empty the coffee grounds box more easily, place a piece of
absorbent paper on the bottom of the box.
e) The mechanical block warning light flashes = there is a mechanical
malfunctioning. Clean BELLA thoroughly by following the instuctions at
point 9.1 "How to clean the brewing group" and point 10 "HOW TO
DECALCIFY BELLA"

If the warning light stays on, contact an Authorized Service Cantre.
All five pilot lights flash in sequence: Clean the brewing unit by followig the instructions at
point 9.1.

If you are not going to use
BELLA
for a long period of time, switch it off and unplug it.

off only when the brewing cycle is over.
