ESP houdt niet in dat u niet langer
voorzichtig en aandachtig hoeft te
rijden.

Het ESP ondersteunt de stabiliteit van de
auto wanneer deze dreigt uit te breken. Dit
wordt bewerkstelligd door de wielen
afzonderlijk af te remmen en door het
motorkoppel zo nodig te verlagen.
Het systeem zorgt ook voor een betere
aandrijfregeling (traction control) door het
motorkoppel te verlagen en afzonderlijke
wielen af te remmen wanneer de wielen
bij het accelereren beginnen door te
draaien. Het verbetert de mogelijkheden
om op gladde of losse oppervlakken te
kunnen optrekken en het verbetert het
comfort door wielspin in haarspeldbochten
te beperken.
Waarschuwingslamp
stabiliteitsregeling (ESP)
De waarschuwingslamp van het ESP
knippert wanneer het systeem is
geactiveerd. Zie Waarschuwings- en
indicatielampen (bladzijde 83).
Noodremassistent
WAARSCHUWING
De noodremassistent is niet bedoeld
om de bestuurder te ontheffen van
zijn plicht om tijdens het rijden
voorzichtig en oplettend te zijn.
De noodremassistent kan een
noodstopsituatie herkennen aan de
snelheid waarmee u het rempedaal
indrukt. Hij zorgt voor een maximale
remdruk zolang het rempedaal wordt
ingedrukt. De noodremassistent kan de
remweg in kritieke situaties reduceren.
Aanhangerstabiliteitsregeling
WAARSCHUWING
De aanhangerstabiliteitsregeling is
niet bedoeld om de bestuurder te
ontheffen van zijn plicht om tijdens
het rijden met een aanhanger voorzichtig
en oplettend te zijn.
