The effectiveness of the
Personal (Torch) Alarm
is due to its extremely loud and powerful siren,
which produces 143 decibels of sound at source (125 decibels is the normal pain threshold of
human hearing). As a result, prolonged exposure can cause permanent hearing damage.
Do Not Activate the Alarm Unnecessarily.
In particular, take care to avoid endangering small
children and pets.
The manufacturer and its agents will not accept any responsibility for any loss, damage or
personal injury sustained while in possession of this product whatever the cause or reason.
Power Supply
The
Personal (Torch) Alarm
is powered by a 9V heavy duty battery (PP3 or equivalent). To
ensure that your alarm is always at the peak of efficiency:
•Check the batteries condition regularly by activating the alarm for a short period.
•At the first sign of a weak sound, replace the battery with a new one.
Instructions for Personal Torch Alarm
To operate your
Personal Torch Alarm:
Simply pull the cord to remove the pin. The
alarm will sound and flash, the alarm will only stop when the pin is replaced. To use
the alarm as a torch, simply press the button on the side ofthe alarm. The
Personal Torch Alarm
will run for up to two hours on a fresh battery.
To Change the Battery in your
Personal (Torch) Alarm
1. Remove the two Phillips screws from the back back of the alarm (fig.2)
2. Remove the back cover by pressing the two clips at the bottom of the alarm and
replace the battery, ensuring that the new battery is inserted as shown in (fig.1)
Note: Incorrect insertion of the battery will prevent your
Personal (Torch) Alarm
from working
properly and will damage the alarm.
3. Replace the back cover and re-tighten the two phillips screws.
4.Always test the alarm after changing the battery.
Suggestions For Use
The
Personal (Torch) Alarm
can be held simply in your hand with the cord slipped around the
wrist. Alternatively, it is fitted with a clip which can be used to attach it to a belt or waistband
for personal security protection, or to a handbag or other item of luggage for protection
against theft (fig.3). The alarm must be accessible when carrying.
The mounting bracket, supplied with strong adhesive fixings, enables the
Personal (Torch) Alarm
to be used as a door security device. The bracket can also be
screwed to a door or similar, for a more permanent fixing (fixing screws not supplied).
If the mounting bracket is not required, remove it before using your
Personal (Torch) Alarm
(fig.4).
