My little hedhe trimmer failed in the first few hours and I never got back to fixing it, in my case its a special screw I need to make. But in answer to your question, most appliances with rechargeables, instruct you to keep the battery contacts cleaned and and I have found a smear of oil will help, IF your trouble is the battery connection. Little reciprocating trimmer. Small sheet of blades jammed up. Two teeth have cut into each other. When the cutter assy removed from the device there's a loose steel ball laying in the rectangular space the cutter assy sits in. Would the ball be from the cutter assy or from the machine itself? The cutter won't easily unlock by rotation of the drive sprocket in either direction. Submitted on 22-12-2021 at 23:44

I have a Ferrex cordless telescopic hedge trimmer model FS-ATHS 2041.The blades appear to be jammed, they will not budge but the unit issues a high pitched noise. I was in the middle of cutting a hedge when it just stopped working. It was purchased from Aldi within the guarantee period but I am unable to find the receipt (I can supply the branch and date of purchase if that is any help).

You probably have a piece of material caught between the blades. It can be a very small bit, but jammed between the blades prevents the blades from moving past each other. Check every tooth, and use a screwdriver or another tool to remove any jammed material. Answered on 23-12-2021 at 21:23
