3. MOUNTING ACCESSORIES
Prior to mounting an accessory always
remove the battery.
Connecting and removing the battery

Ensure that the direction reversing switch (6) •
is in the central position in order to prevent the
appliance from being switched on
unexpectedly.
Insert the battery into the base of the •
appliance, as shown on the illustration. Push
the battery until it latches in.
Press the locking button (4) on either side •
before removing the battery, and disengage
the battery from the base of the appliance.
Only use batteries of the following type. Using any
other batteries could cause serious injury or
damage the tool.
CDA1051: FPB-1800L, 18V Lithium-Ion
CDA1053: FPB-1800N, 18V NiMH
The following charger can be used to charge these
batteries.
CDA1052: FPL-1800 (Lithium-Ion and NiMH)
CDA1054: FPL-1800N (NiMH only)
4. OPERATION
Operation
The impact wrench is driven by an electric motor
via a gear and impact mechanism.
The impact mechanism starts when the screwed
connection runs tight and load is put on the motor.
The mechanism converts the power of the motor
to steady rotary impacts.
Always observe the safety instructions
and applicable regulations.

Firmly hold the machine and push the bit with even
pressure into the workpiece. Do not force the
machine.
Use only bits that do not yet show any signs of
wear. Worn bits have a negative effect on the
efficiency of the machine.
Screwing screws in and out
• Setthedirectionswitch(6)onposition‘4 for
putting in screws.
• Setthedirectionswitchonposition3 for
removing screws.
Be sure that the direction switch (6)
always in position 4’ during drilling.
Regular check the chuck for possible
damage.
Possible use a coolant. In case of
drilling in walls, watch out for drilling in
electric wires of water pipes. Get advice
according to the use from your dealer.

• Presstheon/offswitch(7)in.Youregulatethe
speed of the machine by the degree to which
you keep the switch pressed in.
• Releasingtheon/offswitch(7)causesthedrill
to stop immediately
• Slidethedirectionswitch(6)tothemiddleto
lock the machine in switched off mode.
Do not put the machine away until the machine
has completely stopped running. Do not store the
machine on a dusty surface. Dust particles can get
into the mechanism.
Only operate the drill with the forward /
reverse switch (7) fully engaged. Never
attend to use the drill with this switch in
the neutral position.
5. SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Make sure that the machine is not live
when carrying out maintenance work on
the motor.
The machines have been designed to operate
over a long period of time with a minimum of
maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation
depends upon proper machine care and regular
cleaning.
