O carregador de baterias pode carregar baterias de 6V e 12V. Para isso, prima o interruptor à
direita do painel da frente para a posição seleccionada.
Lento/Rápido
O carregador de baterias tem a possibilidade de fazer carregamentos rápidos ou lentos. Em
carregamento lento, é regenerada a totalidade da massa activa da bateria. Em carregamento
rápido, a bateria não consegue atingir a capacidade total. Utilizando o interruptor que existe
no painel da frente pode escolher entre carregamento “SLOW” (lento) ou “FAST” (rápido)
Verificar a bateria carregada
Com base na gravidade específica da bateria, o ácido pode ser recolhido quer a bateria esteja
totalmente carregada ou não. Utilizando um medidor de gravidade específico, a gravidade
específica pode ser determinada.
Bateria vazia: s.g. = 1.13 kg/dm3
Bateria com carga total: s.g. = 1,28 kg/dm3
5. MANUTENÇÃO
Retirar sempre a ficha da tomada da instalação eléctrica, quando o carregador está a fazer
manutenção ou a ser limpo. Nunca utilizar qualquer água ou outros líquidos para limpar o
carregador. Manter o cabo e o carregador de baterias limpo. Alguns agentes de limpeza e
diluentes (petróleo, diluente) podem alterar ou dissolver peças plásticas. Estes produtos
contêm a.o. benzeno, tricloroetileno, cloreto e amónia.
Baterias com defeito
• Baterias danificadas que não recebem carga.
Muitas vezes acontece que as baterias que estão em muito mau estado já não podem ser
carregadas; têm de ser substituídas porque já não retêm a carga.
• Baterias que fizeram curto-circuito.
Se, ao fim de várias horas o carregador de baterias indicar que a bateria está a ser
carregada, em geral isso significa que um dos elementos está em curto-circuito. A bateria
tem de ser substituída.
Mau funcionamento
Caso o carregador de baterias já não funcionar como devia, isso pode dever-se às seguintes
causas:
• O grampo foi incorrectamente fixo. Verificar se o grampo correcto está fixo ao terminal
correcto.
• O interruptor de segurança está desligado.
Vida útil da bateria
A vida útil da bateria será consideravelmente mais longa se seguir os seguintes conselhos:
• Verificar mensalmente o nível do líquido da bateria e se for necessário, atestá-la com
água destilada.
