The article should only be used as described in these instruc-
tions. Any other use is deemed to be improper.
Safety Instructions
WARNING – Dangers of Injury!
Danger of Suffocation! Keep the packaging material away
from children and animals.
Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! Batteries can be deadly
if swallowed. Keep batteries and articles out of the reach of
children and animals. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical
assistance immediately.
Danger of Burns from Battery Acid! If a battery leaks, avoid
physical contact with the battery acid. Wear protective gloves
if necessary. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected area
with abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as
soon as possible.
NOTICE – Risk of Damage to Material and Property
Do not use the article in rooms with elevated humidity, e.g.
bathrooms.
Use only the battery type speci ed in the “Technical Data”.
Take batteries out of the article when they are dead or if the
article is not going to be used for a prolonged period. This will
prevent any damage if a battery leaks.
Batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other means,
dismantled, thrown into a re, immersed in uids, or short-cir-
cuited.
Place the article at a safe place on a dry surface, a suf cient
distance away from heat sources, for example ovens and heat-
ing systems.
Protect the article from: impacts, heat, direct sunlight, sub-zero
temperatures, moisture and wet conditions.
Do not place any containers lled with liquid, for example vas-
es, directly next to the article.
Do not make any changes to the article and do not attempt to
repair it. In the event of any damage, please contact our cus-
tomer service department. The individual LEDs cannot be re-
placed.

Check the items supplied for possible transport damage. If you
nd any damage to the components, do not use them (!), but con-
tact our customer service department.
Inserting / Changing Batteries
PLEASE NOTE! Insert three 1.5 V batteries, C, Baby type into the
battery compartment on the bottom of the article before you rst
use it. These are not supplied with the article.
Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts are
clean and clean them if necessary.
1. Open the battery compartment: Grip and press down the lock-
ing lug on the battery compartment cover. Lift up the cover at
the same time.
2. Insert three 1.5 V batteries of the C, Baby type into the battery
compartment. Ensure the correct
polarity (+ / –).
3. Reattach the battery compartment cover and press it shut.
When you do this, make sure that the locking lugs sit in the
recesses which are provided for them. You must hear and feel
it engage.
Replace the batteries when the power of the article starts to wane.
PLEASE NOTE! Always replace all batteries together. Do not use
batteries of different types or brands, or batteries with different
capacities.
Putting Into Operation
1. Insert batteries – Insert batteries into the article (see the “In-
serting / Changing the Battery” section).
2. Switch on / off To switch on the article, press the On / Off
switch on the bottom of the article to position I.
To switch the article off again, press the On / Off switch to posi-
tion 0.
3. Set up – Set the article up on a at, dry surface.
Cleaning and Storage
NOTE!
Under no circumstances should you use any corrosive or abra-
sive cleaning agents, rough sponges or knives to clean the
article. These could damage the surfaces.
1. Take the batteries out of the article (see the “Inserting / Chang-
ing the Battery” section).
2. Clean the article with a soft cloth and a little mild detergent if
necessary.
3. Thoroughly dry the article before it is stored away.
4. Store the article in a dry place that is protected from sunlight
and is not accessible to children and animals.

Batteries should be removed prior to disposal of the article
