5.7 Wheel bearing adjustment (see fig. 24)
To check if wheel bearings need adjustment, apply
side to side pressure on the side of the wheel rim. Only
a very slight movement (sidewise) in the bearing (hub)
area should exist. If there is excessive movement,
adjust as follows:
- Remove the wheel from the fork.
- Loosen the lock nut (N) while holding the adjusting
cone (C);
- Screw for a fraction of turn the adjusting cone (C)
so to eliminate any side play;
- Tighten the lock nut (N) while holding the adjusting
cone in its desired position.
When properly adjusted, the wheel will rotate freely
without side play or noticeable friction. When fitting
the wheel on the fork, tighten the axle nuts at 22 Nm
(16 ft.lbs) torque. Never remove the safety device
which will retain the front wheel on the fork in case
that the axle nuts become slack.
5.8 Crankset adjustment
Any side play at the crankset can be adjusted as follows
at its left side (fig. 25):
- Loosen the large lock nut ( N ).
- Screw for a fraction of turn the nut ( R ) to remove
any trace of sideward play.
- Tighten the lock nut ( N ) and check adjustment.
5.9 Bell
Before riding or after an eventual fall, check that the
bell has a clear tone.
Never overtighten the bell cap.
5.7 Rädereinstellung
Die Radsicherungsmuttern müssen festgezogen sein
(Anzugsmoment 22 Nm).
- Verwijder het wiel uit de vork;
zonder zijdelingse speling of merkbare wrijving.
eruit is.
Draai
de beldop nooit te strak vast;
