AC Power connection
1. For first use, open the CD compartment on the top panel, and remove the cardboard shipping protector.
2. Connect the power cable into the AC-In socket on the back of the boom box and connect the power cable plug into the
mains power wall socket
3. Fully extend the telescopic antenna on the back of the boom box to receive the best possible radio reception.
Battery power connection (optional)
The boom box can be operated either by AC power or battery power.
Note: Before inserting the batteries (not included), ensure that the boom box is disconnected from the mains power
supply.
1. Remove the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the boom box.
2. Insert correctly 6 x 1.5V C-size (also known as LR-14) batteries according to the ‘+’ and ‘-’ markings.
3. Replace the battery compartment cover while ensuring that it clicks to place.
Power on or off
To connect power, push the On/Off switch on the back of the boom box to the On position.
To disconnect power, push the On/Off switch on the back of the boom box to the Off position.
When connecting power, press and hold the /MODE button to switch the boom box on or to standby.
Automatically storing DAB radio stations
1. Switch on the boom box, then press briefly the /MODE button to switch to DAB radio mode.
2. The first time you switch on the boom box or if no DAB radio station is stored, the boom box automatically begins to
scan for DAB radio stations. A scanning progress bar is displayed to show the progress of the scan, and the number
of DAB radio stations found is also displayed.
When the scan is complete, the boom box automatically broadcasts the first available station. DAB radio stations are
stored and arranged in numerical and then alphabetical order by default.
Selecting a DAB radio station
In DAB mode:
1. Press the PREV or NEXT button to select available DAB radio stations.
2. When the selected DAB radio station is displayed, wait a short while to let the boom box tune to the selected radio
station, or just press the SELECT button.
Scanning for DAB radio stations
With DAB radio, additional stations and services regularly become available. Perform a manual scan occasionally to make
sure that the boom box stores the most up to date DAB radio stations.
If the boom box is relocated to another place, e.g. travelling with you, it is also recommended to perform a manual scan.
In DAB mode:
1. Press the SCAN button on the boom box to begin a search for DAB radio stations. ‘Scanning...’ is displayed, and a
scanning progress bar is displayed to show the progress of the scan, and the number of DAB radio stations found is
also displayed.
Manually storing DAB radio stations
The boom box can store up to 10 DAB radio stations for instant access to your favorite radio stations.
1. Select a DAB radio station that you wish to preset.
2. Press and hold the PRESET button for approximately 2 seconds until ‘Preset Store’ is displayed.
3. Press the PREV or NEXT button to allocate a number (1-10) to the current DAB radio station.
4. Press the SELECT button to confirm. ‘Preset X stored’ is displayed (‘X’ is the number of the preset).
