After cleaning, the power cable can be wound
up by pressing the pedal on the back of the
appliance (fig. 20).
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Danger of electric shock!
Before carrying out maintenance of any sort,
always make sure the appliance is unplugged
from the mains.
Ordinary cleaning (after every vacuuming
session)
1. Extract the bin from the appliance (fig. 1);
2. Turn the catches (F) at the sides of the
bin to release the lid (fig. 2);
3. Lift the lid (fig. 3).
4. Empty the bin and rinse.
5. Check the inside of the float valve hous-
ing to make sure it is free of dirt. Clean if
necessary.
Regular cleaning
6. Press the catches to release the float
valve housing from the lid (fig. 21);
7. Turn the filter holder anticlockwise and
extract it (fig. 22);
8. Remove the filter from the holder (fig. 23)
and wash both the filter and holder with
running water (fig. 24);
9. Make sure the float is free to move (fig.
25);
10. When dry, replace the filter in the holder
and attach the filter holder to the float
valve housing by turning it clockwise;
11. Put the lid back on the housing (fig. 26),
aligning the arrow printed on the housing
with the guide on the lid, then close.
Cleaning the bin (AUTOCLEAN - fig. 27)
The appliance has an AUTOCLEAN button to
automatically clean and sanitise the bin.
To use this function, empty the bin and fill
with 1 litre of water and 10 ml of detergent
(about half the cap of the bottle provided).
Press the AUTOCLEAN button to activate the
function. The "POWER LEVEL" lights flash to
indicate that cleaning is underway.
While the AUTOCLEAN function is active, you
cannot vary the power level. The appliance
goes off automatically after five minutes.
When AUTOCLEAN is completed, empty the
bin and rinse with water to eliminate deter-
gent residues.
Motor filter maintenance
To keep suction power at maximum efficien-
cy, the motor cool and the air given out com-
pletely clean and dust free, always keep the
motor filter clean.
This high efficiency filter can retain any parti-
cle with a diameter of more than 0.3 microns.
To clean the filter, remove the rear grille by
pressing on the two side tabs (fig. 28).
Remove the filter (fig. 29) and shake to
remove the dust (fig. 30).
Put the filter back in place (fig. 31) and
replace the rear grille.
When the filter is obviously clogged, replace
with a similar filter obtainable from service
centres.
Models with remote control on the
handgrip: replacing the batteries
If the remote controls do not work, replace
the batteries.
Remove the cover on the handgrip (fig.
32);
Insert two R03 “AAA” 1.5V batteries in
the right direction (see instructions inside
the battery compartment);
Replace the cover.
NB: Batteries removed for replacement
or when disposing of the remote control
should be eliminated in compliance with cur-
rent legislation as they are damaging to the
environment.
