l The speakers' volume control knob, if any, is set at mid-range. Use Windows Volume Control to
adjust the volume, if necessary.
l The powered speakers or external amplifier are connected to the card's Line Out or Rear Out jack.

Panning a source sometimes turns off its sound.
This occurs when the source's left-right balance in a software mixer application other than Windows
Volume Control application is at the opposite end compared to the position to which you have panned
the source in the Windows Volume Control.
To solve this problem:
l Open that other Windows Volume Control, and center the balances for all the audio input sources.
This ensures that your analog sources will not turn silent when you pan them on Windows Volume
Control.

Problems with Multiple Audio Cards/Devices
Before you install your Sound Blaster Audigy 5/Rx, you are advised to completely uninstall and remove
any existing audio devices. Operating multiple audio devices in your computer may introduce usability
issues.
To solve this problem:
1. Check if you have other existing audio devices installed in your computer. The audio device may
be an audio card or an onboard audio chipset.
2. If your computer has other audio cards installed, please completely uninstall and remove these
audio cards from the computer. If your computer has onboard audio, disable that audio device.
See your computer's motherboard documentation for details.
