3.6 Operation off season
With
outside
temperatures
above
15°C
the
draught
can
be
damaged
by
decreasing
the
fire
output,
therefore
the exhaust
gases
are
not
fully
discharged
(smell
of
smoke
in
the
room).
In
this
case
it
is
recommended
to
cleanthe grating
of
ash
and
increase
the
combustion
air.
Feed
the
fire
withless
fuel
and
clean
the
grating
more
frequently.
3.7 Idle period
If
the
stove
is
not
used
for
long
periods
it
is
advisable
to
store
it
in
a
safe
and
protected
place.
To
best
preserve
the
stove:
-
-
carefully
clean
it,
and
replace
any
damaged
parts
if
necessary;
-
cover
it
to
protect
it
from
dust.
4 – ROUTINE STOVE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Good
maintenance
helps
improve
the
stove's
operation,
efficiency
and
durability.
Every
day,
before
lighting
the
fire,
it
is
recommended
to
clean
the
grating
of
any
unburnt
remains
and
remove
the
ash
that
has
accumulated
in
the
ash
box.
4.1 Removing ash
The
firewood
stove
mod.BEA
isequipped
with
an
ash
box
and
a
removable
grating
that
should
be
cleaned
of
ash
before
loading
with
fuel,
using
the
poker
provided.
It
is
recommended
to
empty
the
ash
box
periodically
since
an
accumulation
of
ash
under
the
grating
will
obstruct
the
flow
of
combustion
air.
The
grating
gets
overheated
and
canbe
damaged.
To
prevent
the
risk
of
fire,
it
is
necessary
to
leave
the
ash
to
cool
outdoors
in
a
metal
container
or
in
the
stove
and
to
dispose
of
it
according
to
current
local
regulations.
4.2 Cleaning the glass
The
glass
can
be
cleaned
with
a
damp
cloth
and
specific
non-abrasive
detergents.
Do
not
clean
the
glass
during
operation
of
the
stove.
The
glass
must
be
cleaned
only
when
the
stove
is
cold.
4.3 Cleaning flues for exhaust gas
A
reduction
in
heat
output
is
almost
always
due
to
the
flues
getting
clogged.
Even
burnt
gas
coming
out
with
a
smell
can
be
a
sign
of
the
flues
being
clogged.
The
flues
of
your
stove
must
be
cleaned
at
regular
intervals.
The
quantityof
soot
and
frequency
of
cleaning
basically
depend
on
the
type
of
fuel
and
the
type
of
use
(low
or
high
output).
To
avoid
pointless
dust
getting
out,
it
is
necessary
to
do
the
cleaning
according
to
the
following
instructions:
-
-
clean
only
when
the
stove
is
off;
-
close
all
the
openings
that
must
not
be
cleaned;
-
remove
the
exhaust
gas
pipe
and
clean
outdoors;
-
detach
the
sediments
and
deposits
inside
the
stove
with
a
wire
brush;
-
all
the
sedimentsdetached
from
the
grating
or
ash
box
must
be
disposed
of;
-
in
any
case
detach
the
pipe
from
the
chimney.
Carefully
close
the
openings
for
cleaning
and
check
the
seal
of
the
lid.
It
is
necessary
to
renew
it
if
it
gets
damaged
by
taking
the
lid
off
when
cleaning.
Take
care
when
refitting
the
pipes
not
to
damage
the
painted
parts
or
the
seals.
Dispose
of
cleaning
waste
in
accordance
with
the
current
local
regulations.
