Proper Use
The Blow Torch BG 1200 is intended for non-commercial use and may
only be used outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms. The device is suitable
for soft soldering and for simple hard soldering works.
Do not use device for lighting charcoal grills as reflecting warmth
of the glowing charcoal could heat up and deform the plastic
parts  danger of injury!
Important
Please read these instructions for use carefully to get acquainted
with the device first before you attach the gas cartridge. Keep the
leaflet for further reference.
It is not allowed to change settings or make modifications from those
set by the manufacturer. It could be dangerous to change the structure
of the device on your own authority, to remove parts or to use parts
which are not approved for the device by the manufacturer.
Use solely butane gas cartridges of the type 200, picture 1, according
to EN 417 (190 g), which are commercially available, which are
recommended for this device and which correspond with the European
Norm EN 417 (as e.g. butane cartridges provided  CFH No. 52150).
Butane gas cartridges of 190 g you use must have an inscription EN
417. These standard gas cartridges are available in building stores. This
device may be only used with a butane cartridge (cartridge with a piercing
point connection  CFH No. 52150). It could be dangerous trying to
connect other gas receptacles.
Never fit a gas receptacle (cartridge of 190 g) before reading the safety
instructions stated on it.
The device may only be used in well ventilated
rooms.
Security instructions  Warning
§ Only fit the gas cartridge in well ventilated rooms, where there are no
flammable materials or combustible sources in the neighbourhood,
no electric stoves or open fire, and in a sufficient distance from other
persons.
§ Do not smoke when fitting the cartridge.
§ Make sure before attaching the gas cartridge that the gasket between
the device and the gas cartridge is not missing and is in good condition
(see No. 4  visual check). Do not use any device with damaged or
worn out gasket. Do not use any device which is leaking or damaged
or which does not work properly.
§ Do not change the cartridge if you are not absolutely sure that the
cartridge is completely empty.
§ Follow safety instructions stated on the cartridge.
§ Keep the device away from children. Children are not allowed to use
the device (danger of injury).
§ Do not shake the device before starting up and when working with it,
in order that the liquid gas cannot flow to the burner and cause problems
with lighting or functionality of the device (e.g. an uncontrolled reddish
blazing flame could occur). If this happens shut the gas supply
immediately by turning the regulating valve (No. 1a) towards (-). Thus
you prevent that further gas streams out. After 2  3 minutes the device
is fully functional again.
§ Only change the cartridge when outside, far away from possible
combustible sources, as e.g. open fire, pilot flames, electrical hot
plates and similar, and in a sufficient distance from other persons and
animals. Before changing the cartridge always close the gas regulation
valve (No. 1a).
§ Pressure gas cylinders and cartridges are one-way-receptacles.
Refilling is not permitted and could be very dangerous.
§ Do not use in closed rooms. Provide sufficient ventilation to ensure
there is enough combustion air (danger of suffocation).
§ Use device only in a clean environment in a secure distance from
flammable substances or greasy materials. Make sure you do not
inhale any soldering or welding vapours. Use protective goggles. Use
grease-free protective clothes.
§ The device can reach very high temperatures at the burner during
normal operation (danger of burns).
§ Do not put the burner aside when the flame is lit (danger of fire). Do
not leave the device unattended if it is on. Protect the cartridge from
becoming warm or hot.
§ ATTENTION: Accessible parts of the device can be very hot (danger
of injury). Keep the device away from reach of the children. Never
touch the burner if it is still hot. When the device is not in use, protect
it from dust and humidity.
§ If the flame is blown out due to a wind blast, immediatelly close the
gas regulation valve, so that no more gas can flow uncontrolled out
of the device.
§ Do not use the device close to inflammable or heat sensitive materials.
§ When starting the device do not leave it unattended. Prevent
accumulation of heat.
§ Wear protective working gloves (danger of burns).
§ Do not inhale poisonous vapours (danger of suffocation).
Test for Leaks
Only test gas tightness when outside by spreading soapsuds over the
connections at the outer side of the device, where the gas flows, or spray
these connections with a detection spray. Never seek untight connections
using a flame. Do not put a device into operation with damaged or worn
out gasket or use a device where gas is leaking, which is damaged or
does not work properly. If gas leaks out of your device (you can smell
gas or hear hissing) take it immediately outside to a place with a good
air circulation and without any combustible sources, where you can
search for the leaking spot and fix it.
Steps to be taken before fitting the gas receptacle
(cartridge)
Change gas receptacle only outside and far away from other persons.
After each attachment and each cartridge change you must test the gas
tightness (see section Test for Leaks).
Make sure that all attachments and other connections are correctly
connected and nothing is damaged. Ensure that parts where the gas
flows are not damaged. Never use a damaged device. Before fitting a
butane cartridge, close the gas regulation valve on the device (No. 1a
/ (-) = shut gas supply). Before fitting each new gas cartridge check the
gasket (visual check  No. 4). It is necessary to ensure that at the
upper part of the blow torch inside on the piercing pin there is a
black rubber gasket, and that this gasket is in a good condition
(No. 4). If this gasket is missing or is damaged, do not use the
device. The replacement gasket can be changed only by an
authorized specialist dealer or by the manufacturer. Do not make
any manipulations to the device! Make sure, always before you light
the flame on the burner that all parts are gastightly connected.
Attaching the butane cartridge
When assemblying the device hold it upright (burner pointing upwards
please only
after 3 minutes
of burn time
