1. Important Precautions
Never try to take the calculator apart.
•To clean the calculator, wipe it off with a soft cloth.
•Turn off the calculator after use or if you do not plan to use the calculator. It is best to unplug from the AC outlet if you do
not plan to use the calculator for a long time.
Do not turn on the calculator if there is condensation (water droplets) formed on it. Doing so can damage the print head.
Wait until the condensation dries.
Never open the printer cover while printing is being performed.
•Wait until all printing operations are stopped before trying to replace the paper.
If printing stops and the message “. . . PAUSE . . .” appears on the display, it means that the printer motor or print head
is hot. This can occur if printing is performed continually over some time. Normal operation will resume in about 10
minutes when the temperature drops back down to normal levels.
Never touch the print head or the area around it. These items become very hot during printing, and touching them
creates the risk of burn injury.
Never touch the rotary drive mechanism inside the printer. Doing so creates the risk of personal injury.
•Use only the specified type of paper. Use of another type of paper can result in one or more of the following.
poor print quality
scratching of the print head
adhesion of the paper to the print head
—excessive noise
—faded printing
—corrosion of the print head
Never perform printing or paper feed operations when there is no paper loaded in the printer. Doing so can damage the
platen and the print head.
Never strike the surface of the print head with a hard object or scratch it with a sharp object. Doing so can damage the
heat element.
Leaving the print head in contact with the platen can cause deformation of the platen and lead to poor print quality.
Should the platen become deformed, feed some paper. This should return the platen to its normal shape.
•Printing in an area whose ambient temperature is from 5°C to 35°C is recommended. Operation under temperatures
outside this range can cause printing to be to light and other problems that affect print quality.
Keep the calculator away from water and never operate it while your hands are wet. Water creates the risk of damage to
the calculator, electric shock, and fire.
Never use the calculator in an area exposed to large amounts of dust. Dust creates the risk of damage to the print head
and paper feeder.
The display reverts to timekeeping if you do not perform any operation for 30 minutes. Pressing C switches back to the
display that was shown before reverting to the timekeeping display.
•In no event will CASIO and its suppliers be liable to you or any other person for any damages, including any incidental
or consequential expenses, lost profits, lost saving or any other damages arising out of use of this calculator.
2. About the Input Buffer
The input buffer of this calculator can hold up to 12 key operations (both number entries and function commands),
so you can continue key input even while another operation is being processed.
