Do not use the appliance or the mains adaptor if either one of
them or the connecting lead is in any way obviously damaged
or showing signs of malfunctioning.
From time to time it is advisable to inspect the ladyshaver and
mains adaptor. In the case of damage or malfunction do not
under any circumstances continue to use the appliance and do
not open either the appliance or the mains adaptor! However,
please proceed as described in the section “Guarantee”.
Overheating or smell are both indications of a developing
electrical defect.
Only specialists are allowed to do reparations. Improperly
reparations can cause considerable danger!
Do not allow the ladyshaver to come into contact with clothing
or any other objects as doing so would mean risk of injury and
the efcient function of the appliance may also be adversely
effected.
There is always risk of injury when using electrical appliances
improperly!
To prevent unintentional misuse, keep the appliance stored away
in a safe place.
Operating›instructions
Before beginning, thoroughly wash the areas of the body to
be shaved, to remove any traces of personal care products (e.g.
deodorant) and dry the skin with a towel. According to the appli-
ance design and type this ladyshaver can be used wet and dry.
Prearrangement
The appliance has to be full charged. Connect the mains adaptor
to the charger and the ladyshaver to the charger and allow it to
charge for 16 hours before using it for the rst time. Directions for
doing this are in the section “Charging the rechargeable Battery”.
Dry shaving
When dry shaving, make sure that the skin is washed thoroughly
and is absolutely dry.
• Use the switch to turn on the appliance
(Fig. 2)
.
Pull your skin taut using your free hand to make the hairs
lift up. To use in the armpit area stretch your arm up over your
head (Fig. 3).
Guide the ladyshaver smoothly and without undue pressure
over the skin so that both the longer and shorter hairs are
cut evenly
(Fig. 4)
.
• Use the appliance against the direction of the growth of hair.
Switch off the ladyshaver after use, remove the mains plug from
mains socket and replace the protective cover.
Wet shaving
The battery appliance is also suitable for wet shaving e.g. in
the shower, the application is the same as for dry shaving.
Best results are achieved when soap or shaving foam are used. But
the appliance must not be totally submerged in the water
(Fig. 5)
.
Recommendation
Clean the ladyshaver after every use! Directions for doing this
are in the section “Cleaning and maintenance”.
Do not use any lotions that contain alcohol either immediately
before or after shaving.
To avoid any possible skin irritations do not press the foil too
hard against the skin.
Charging the rechargeable battery
Charge the integral rechargeable battery for at least 16 hours
before using the ladyshaver for the rst time and whenever it
hasn’t been used for some time.
Before use please check that the voltage specications on the
mains adaptor plug correspond to the local mains voltage.
Connect the mains adaptor to the charger and the ladyshaver to
the charger. A LED will light up on the charger to indicate that
the appliance is being charged.
Recommendation
The charger unit mains lead cannot be connected to the lady-
shaver! With a completely charged battery you can use the
appliance for about 30 minutes without a mains lead. Normally
the ladyshaver is charged over a period of 8 hours. Use the
ladyshaver for so long until it needs to be charged again.
Recommendation
Only charge the rechargeable battery when it is almost empty.
This will prevent premature wear and tear of the rechargeable
battery (Memory-Effect). Do not leave the charger plugged in all
the time. Every 3 to 4 months the ladyshaver should be completely
discharged so that it is unable to operate. This is followed by a
charging session lasting at least 8 hours during which the rechar-
geable battery cells are regenerated. This will ensure that the life
expectancy of the cells is maximised.
