De DVD89 beschikt bovendien over een aansluiting voor HDMI (High-
Definition Multi-media Interface). Dit is de nieuwe, volledig digitale
standaardaansluiting voor de overdracht van audio en video zonder
compressieverliezen.
Met HDMI stuurt de dvd-speler de digitale audio- en videosignalen
direct naar de televisie zonder voorafgaande digitaal-analoogconversie.
Dit voorkomt signaalverlies en levert de hoogste beeld- en
geluidskwaliteit.
