We bought this doorbell for my elderly father and left it working. A couple of days later he phoned to say that it had stopped working. My brother drove over and reset it. Now it is not working again. How is it coming uncoupled, please? Can we prevent it?

We bought this for my elderly father and left him with it in working order. Within a couple of days it was not working. My brother reset it and it worked again. Now he says it is not working. Why should it come uncoupled in this way?
