GENERAL
DInstallation, maintenance and use are to be carried out
exclusively by authorised personnel.
DHave a service technician replace the power cord if this is
visibly damaged;
DNever dip the appliance in water.
DNever switch on the appliance if there is no water in the
tank.
DAlways use the appliance on a dry, flat, heat−resistant
surface, and make sure it is not placed on the edge.
DThe apparatus is not to be used by children or persons with
reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of
experience and knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction.
DChildren being supervised not to play with the apparatus.
THE APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
INSTALLATION
DBefore using the appliance clean the filter unit, the tube and
the inside of the tank with a non−abrasive detergent.
DPlace the appliance on a flat solid surface.
DPlace the tube and the filter unit inside the tank.
DConnect the plug of the appliance into an earthed wall
socket (without switching it on).
THE APPLIANCE IS NOW READY FOR USE
WARNING !
nThe outside of the appliance becomes very hot when it is
in use. DO NOT TOUCH!
BOILING THE WATER
DFill the appliance with cold water.
DPlace the tube and the filter unit in the appliance.
DMake sure the base of the tube is correctly positioned in
the hole situated at the base of the tank.
DClose the appliance using its lid.
DSwitch on the appliance by turning the ON/OFF−switch to
the ON position. The heating signal light should then go on.
DWhen about 3 cups of water remain in the tank, switch off
the appliance by turning the ON/OFF−switch to the OFF
position and unplugging the electric cable.
THERMAL SECURITY THERMOSTAT
DThe appliance is equipped with a thermal security
thermostat. If the latter engages, the appliance switches off
automatically. If the appliance after approx. 20 minutes
doesn’t restart automaticly, please consult your
dealer.
HEATING UP WATER FOR INSTANT DRINKS
Fresh water can be heated up in the appliance for
preparing instant drinks. Simply fill the cleaned
appliance with COLD Fresh water up to the desired
level according to the number of cups and place the
tube and the filter unit in the correct position. Connect
the plug into the eathed wall socket and turn the
ON/OFF−switch to the ON position. The water will heat
up. Switch it off and disconnect the plug when about 3
cups of water remains in the tank.
When the appliance is used only for heating water, it must be
thoroughly cleaned after use. This is in addition to the special
weekly cleaning for which vinegar must be used so that the
calcium deposits can be removed.
If these deposits are not removed, the metal may become
pitted and this can damage the appliance.
MAKING COFFEE
Note :
−We recommend making at least 30% of the maximum
coffee capacity of the appliance.
−It is preferable to use coarse−grained coffee.
DFill the water tank depending on the amount of coffee
desired.
DPlace the tube and the filter support in the tank, making
sure that the base of the tube is correctly positioned in its
cavity.
DPlace ground coffee in the filter unit
(approximately 30 to 40 g per litre).
DClose the percolator by replacing the lid. Turn it clockwise
to lock.
DSwitch on the percolator by pressing the ON/OFF−button.
The red light will come on. When the green light comes on,
the coffee is ready and will be kept hot automatically.
CLEANING AFTER USE
DTake out the filter unit and the tank tube; empty the filter
contents into the rubbish bin.
DRinse out the filter unit, the lid and the tube.
DRinse out the inside of the tank until it is clean. The
appliance is now ready for use again.
MAINTENANCE
DClean the filter unit and the lid with a non−abrasive
detergent and dry them with a soft dry cloth.
DThe inside and the tube are of stainless steel and can
therefore be cleaned with a product and a scouring pad.
DFor the tap to operate normally, the hole at the bottom of
the tank must not be furred up. If necessary, use a
descaling agent.
DTo clean the tap unit use a bottle brush, moving it back and
forth. Insert it in the tap opening inside the tank to clean the
intermediate part linking the tap to the appliance. Wash the
tap handle with hot soapy water and rinse.
* Do not use bicarbonate of soda to clean the appliance
as this may permanently discolour and pit the metal.

We have had the machine for a number of years and it has been excellent. However the last few times we have been using it the coffee is not wet and all we get out is warm water not coffee
