IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Please read this instruction manual carefully before using and keep instructions in a safe place for

future reference.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

1. Read and save all instructions.

2. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not immerse base, motor, cord or plug in water

or other liquid.

3. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

4. This appliance should not be used by children.

5. This appliance is not intended for use by person (including children) with reduced sensory

or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless given supervision or

instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children

should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

6. Unplug the cord from the power outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts

and before cleaning.

7. Avoid contact with moving parts.

8. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug; after the appliance malfunctions

or is dropped; or the appliance is damaged in any manner. Call our toll-free customer service

number for information, examination and repair, electrical or mechanical adjustment. Never

attempt to service this appliance yourself.

9. The use of attachments not recommended or sold by the appliance manufacturer, may

cause fire, electric shock or injury and is strictly prohibited.

10. Do not use your food processor if any part is broken.

11. Do not let the power cord hang over the edge of a table or counter, or touch a hot surface.

12. Keep hands and utensils away from moving blades and discs while processing food so as to

avoid severe personal injury and/or damage to the food processor. A rubber scraper may be

used, but ONLY when the food processor is not running.

13. The blades and discs are sharp! Handle carefully!

14. Never feed food into the food chute by hand. Always use the food pusher.

15. To reduce the risk of injury, never place the cutting blade or disc on the base without first

putting the bowl properly into place.

16. Ensure that the lid is securely locked into place before operating the appliance.

17. Never attempt to override the lid interlocking mechanism.

18. Make sure that a blade or a disc has come to a complete halt before removing the lid.

19. Caution: To reduce the risk of injury, be sure to insert or remove blades and discs using the

hubs provided for this purpose. Use caution when removing blades and discs from the bowl,

when emptying the bowl and when cleaning.

20. Ensure that the switch is turned to the OFF (O) position after each use. Always use the

pusher to clear the food chute. When this method is not possible, turn the motor off and

disassemble the unit to remove the remaining food.

21. This appliance is not intended for commercial, professional or industrial use. It is designed

and built exclusively for household use only.

22. Do not use this appliance outdoors.

23. Do not use appliance for other than its intended use.

24. Never use the appliance for a longer period or with a larger amount of ingredients than

recommended by the appliance manufacturer.

25. The maximum rating of this unit is based on use of the chopping/mixing blade. The slicing/

shredding disc may draw significantly less power.

26. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

27. Store this appliance out of the reach of children.
