Snap-In for NetWare Administrator (NWAdmin)
54 Netware Connect for ISDN 6 Information for Administrators
l
NWSNAPIN installed on the workstation
The Snap-In is installed on the workstation by starting Setup.exe in the di-
rectory SYS:SYSTEM\NWCI\NWSNAPIN. The Setup program copies some ad-
ditional DLL files to the Windows folder and enters the necessary keys in the
Registry.
To perform NetWare Connect for ISDN configuration, start the NetWare Ad-
ministrator and open the container in which the NWCI object is located. Then
double-click on the object icon to access the service and ISDN-Controller
configuration.
Service Configuration
The service configuration contains Global parameters that apply to all Net-
Ware Connect for ISDN services. These include security limits for NWCI ports
and settings for the accounting and connection logs.
Settings specific to RNSI are also available under RNSI General. These in-
clude all parameters for configuring RNSI network addresses, all filter and
spoofing settings, and all RNSI port use, charge control and call-back set-
tings.
Please note that configuration changes only take effect after NetWare Con-
nect for ISDN has been restarted. Stop and restart NetWare Connect for ISDN
by entering the commands
nwcstop and nwcstart at the server console.
ISDN-Controller Configuration
The ISDN-Controller configuration in the NetWare Administrator Snap-In pro-
vides a dialog to set configuration parameters for each ISDN-Controller in-
stalled.
In the Global settings, the interrupt level, I/O address and D-channel pro-
tocol of each ISDN-Controller are displayed. These parameters can only be
changed at the server console: they can only be viewed here, not edited.
The configuration settings for PABX extension lines can also be changed in
this dialog. The ISDN-Controller can be enabled for connection to a PBX ex-
tension (see also Section 4.3, ISDN-Controller Configuration, in this manu-
al).
If the PBX setting is activated on the server, the corresponding setting in the
NDC clients CAPI applications must be disabled so that the outside dialing
prefix is not added to outgoing numbers twice.
Controller-specific parameters for RNSI number configuration are accessible
under RNSI General. The values entered here are necessary in order for
RNSI to answer incoming calls correctly, and are sent to the client as the call-
er-specified number to use when the call-back function is activated.
